White Christmas
Capsule by Dave Kehr
From the Chicago Reader

This 1954 Paramount musical is a semiremake of Holiday Inn (1942), which introduced the title song. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye are a pair of nightclub performers who help an old army acquaintance (Dean Jagger) make a go of his resort hotel. Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen provide the love interest, and the whole thing is rather forced and antiseptically cheerful. Michael Curtiz directed, a long way from Casablanca. With Sig Ruman, Grady Sutton, and Mary Wickes. 120 min.
