Separate Tables
Capsule by Dave Kehr
From the Chicago Reader

Delbert Mann's stiff adaptation of Terence Rattigan's stage play, set in a British seaside resort where all of the apparently elegant guests have--conveniently for the author--incredibly messy private lives. It's hard to believe that anything this academic and artificial was once considered great filmmaking, but you can look it up. David Niven and Wendy Hiller won Academy Awards; virtually everyone else was nominated. With Burt Lancaster, Rita Hayworth, Deborah Kerr, Gladys Cooper, and Kathleen Nesbitt (1958).
